Partagas – Lusitanias SLB (Box of 50)

The Partagas Lusitanias SLB Box of 50 is one of the most recognizable large-format cigars in the Partagás portfolio.

The Lusitanias is a classic Double Corona, measuring approximately 194 mm long with a 49 ring gauge. Its considerable size gives the blend plenty of time to develop, making it particularly well suited to long, relaxed smoking sessions.

The SLB presentation means Slide Lid Box, a traditional Habanos cabinet-style presentation. Habanos identifies SLB as a Cabinet Selection presentation available in 10, 25, or 50 cigars, with the cigars traditionally presented in a wooden box.

With 50 cigars in the cabinet, this presentation is particularly appealing to serious Partagás enthusiasts and collectors.

Partagas Lusitanias Double Corona

The Partagas Lusitanias Double Corona is the defining large-format expression of the Partagás brand.

At 194 mm long, the cigar provides a considerably longer smoking experience than the brand’s popular Robusto formats. The 49 ring gauge provides enough tobacco volume to support the blend’s rich character while maintaining the classic proportions of a Double Corona.

The Lusitanias has been part of the Partagás tradition for decades and is specifically highlighted by Habanos among the brand’s best-known vitolas.

Partagas Lusitanias Cuban Cigar

The Partagas Lusitanias Cuban Cigar represents the classic Partagás style in one of its largest standard formats.

Partagás was established in Havana in 1845 by Don Jaime Partagás. Habanos describes the brand’s cigars as recognizable for their intense flavor, with blends using selected tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo area of Pinar del Río.

The Lusitanias takes this characteristic blend and places it into a long Double Corona format, allowing the flavors and aromas to evolve gradually during the smoking experience.

Partagas Lusitanias Flavor Profile

The Partagas Lusitanias offers a rich and evolving flavor profile.

Common tasting notes include:

• Cedar
• Earth
• Leather
• Black pepper
• Cinnamon
• Ginger
• Coffee
• Cocoa
• Dark chocolate
• Caramel
• Roasted tobacco
• Nuts
• Herbal notes
• Sweet spices

The opening can show cedar, sweet tobacco, and spice before developing deeper leather and coffee characteristics. During the middle portion, earthy notes can become more pronounced alongside cinnamon, caramel, and roasted coffee.

The final third can become considerably richer, with stronger spice, bitter chocolate, pepper, earth, and herbal nuances.

Because of its length, the Lusitanias can offer a particularly noticeable evolution from the first draw to the final third.

Partagas Lusitanias Strength

The Partagas Lusitanias is generally classified as full-bodied.

Habanos lists the Lusitanias among the Partagás vitolas characterized by the brand’s intense flavor, while current product references classify the cigar as full strength.

The cigar can build in intensity as it progresses, making it more appropriate for experienced smokers who enjoy substantial Cuban tobacco character.

Despite its strength, the Lusitanias can offer considerable flavor complexity rather than relying exclusively on power.

Partagas Lusitanias Smoking Time

The Partagas Lusitanias is designed for a long smoking session.

At 194 mm × 49, current retailer references estimate a smoking time of approximately 80–100 minutes, while some descriptions place the experience closer to 120–180 minutes depending on smoking pace.

This makes the Lusitanias particularly appropriate for:

• Long evening sessions
• After-dinner smoking
• Weekend relaxation
• Cigar tastings
• Special occasions
• Cigar club gatherings
• Extended conversations
• Slow, contemplative smoking

It is not a cigar to rush. Allowing the Lusitanias sufficient time can reveal considerably more of its changing flavor profile.

Partagas Lusitanias SLB Box of 50 for the Humidor

The Partagas Lusitanias SLB Box of 50 is intended for serious cigar enthusiasts who want a substantial supply of this classic Double Corona.

The cabinet contains 50 cigars, making it especially suitable for dedicated smokers, collectors, and larger humidors.

The SLB presentation also has historical significance. Habanos explains that the Slide Lid Box was created for the British market at the beginning of the 20th century for selected “Cabinet Quality” Habanos.

A full cabinet therefore provides both a practical storage presentation and an attractive collector piece.

Partagas Lusitanias for Experienced Smokers

The Partagas Lusitanias is best suited to experienced cigar smokers.

Its large size, long smoking time, full-bodied character, and evolving flavor profile demand patience and attention.

Smokers who already appreciate the Partagas Serie D No.4, Partagas Presidentes, or other full-bodied Partagás formats may enjoy moving to the Lusitanias for a much longer smoking experience.

The cigar is especially attractive to enthusiasts who enjoy watching a blend change through multiple thirds.

Partagas Lusitanias for Collectors

The Partagas Lusitanias SLB Box of 50 is an impressive addition to a serious Cuban cigar collection.

The Lusitanias has a long production history, and the format is specifically recognized by Habanos as one of the best-known Partagás vitolas.

The 50-count SLB cabinet adds further collector appeal.

For enthusiasts who collect large-format Habanos, the Lusitanias is particularly notable because of its classic Double Corona proportions and traditional cabinet presentation.

Partagas Lusitanias SLB Box for Gifting

A 50-count Partagas Lusitanias SLB cabinet represents a substantial premium cigar gift.

Because of its size and presentation, it is better suited to serious cigar enthusiasts, collectors, or significant occasions than casual cigar gifting.

It can be appropriate for:

• Milestone birthdays
• Retirement celebrations
• Major anniversaries
• Premium cigar collections
• Cigar club events
• Serious collectors
• Luxury cigar gifts
• Special celebrations

For customers who simply want to experience the Lusitanias, a smaller presentation or single cigar is more practical.
