Partagas – Maduro No.1 SBN (Box of 25)

The Partagas Maduro No.1 SBN Box of 25 represents one of the more distinctive additions to the Partagás portfolio.

Introduced in 2015, the Maduro No.1 was the first cigar in the Partagás range to feature a dedicated dark maduro wrapper. Habanos describes the wrapper as the result of an extra fermentation period, designed to enhance the richness and depth of the blend.

Each box contains 25 handmade Cuban cigars in the traditional Semi Boîte Nature presentation. The cigar measures 130 mm long with a 52 ring gauge, giving it a substantial Robusto format.

The box presentation makes this format particularly attractive to regular Partagás smokers and collectors.

Partagas Maduro No.1 Robusto

The Partagas Maduro No.1 Robusto offers a substantial smoking experience in a compact format.

At 130 mm × 52, the cigar has a slightly larger ring gauge than the popular Serie D No.4 while retaining a manageable length. Its factory vitola is commonly identified as Maduro No.1, with some references also describing it as Discretos.

The 52 ring gauge gives the cigar enough tobacco volume to develop its rich flavor profile throughout the smoking session.

Partagas Maduro No.1 Cuban Cigar

The Partagas Maduro No.1 Cuban Cigar combines the traditional Partagás character with a darker, specially fermented wrapper.

Habanos officially introduced the Maduro No.1 as the first release in a new Maduro series within the Partagás brand. The cigar was designed around tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo region of Pinar del Río, one of Cuba’s principal tobacco-growing areas.

The Maduro No.1 was also released exclusively through La Casa del Habano and recognized Habanos Specialist retailers, giving it a particularly premium position within the Partagás range.

Partagas Maduro No.1 Flavor Profile

The Partagas Maduro No.1 is known for a rich and layered flavor profile.

Common tasting notes include:

• Dark chocolate
• Espresso
• Roasted coffee
• Earth
• Leather
• Black pepper
• Toasted tobacco
• Cocoa
• Dried fruit
• Almond
• Licorice
• Natural sweetness

The opening can reveal chocolate, dried fruit, and spice before developing darker coffee and roasted tobacco characteristics. The middle portion can introduce toasted almond and deeper cocoa notes, while the final third tends to become more powerful with black coffee, licorice, pepper, and additional sweetness.

This progression gives the Maduro No.1 considerable depth without relying solely on strength.

Partagas Maduro No.1 Strength

The Partagas Maduro No.1 is generally described as medium-full to full-bodied.

Some retailers classify it simply as full strength, while others describe the cigar as medium-full.

The cigar can begin relatively smooth before becoming more powerful toward the final third. This makes it particularly suitable for experienced smokers who enjoy rich tobacco character combined with sweetness and spice.

Partagas Maduro No.1 Maduro Wrapper

The dark wrapper is one of the defining characteristics of the Partagas Maduro No.1.

The term maduro refers to the dark appearance produced through the curing, fermentation, and ageing process. According to Habanos, the Maduro No.1’s wrapper receives an extra fermentation period, enhancing the cigar’s full-flavored character.

The darker wrapper contributes to the cigar’s distinctive appearance while adding depth and sweetness to the overall smoking profile.

The result is a cigar that remains unmistakably Partagás while offering a different character from the brand’s more traditional blends.

Partagas Maduro No.1 Smoking Time

The Partagas Maduro No.1 provides a substantial smoking session.

Current retailer estimates range from approximately 45 minutes to 90 minutes, depending on smoking pace and individual conditions.

Its 130 mm length and 52 ring gauge make it suitable for:

• After-dinner smoking
• Evening relaxation
• Weekend sessions
